FC Dallas seem to be on a mission to make amends for last season’s disastrous attempted defence of the MLS Supporters Shield. They had finished top of the Western Conference for two consecutive seasons, but completely crumbled in 2017 and ended up missing out on the playoffs entirely.
Now, 12 games into the 2018 campaign, they find themselves back challenging at the top of the Western Conference. They have picked up 23 points from these 12 games, leaving them just two points adrift of the top spot and with a game in hand.
This is down to them being a very difficult side to beat. They have only lost one league game all season, a record that none of the other 22 teams in the MLS can boast. However, they have only won half of their games, a record which five other teams have bettered so far.
Midweek saw them make a trip to LA as they faced LA Galaxy at the Stubhub Center, and they looked to be cruising to victory after going 3-0 up. Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s brace put the nerves on edge, but the visiting Texans managed to take home the three points. They have now won five, drawn four, and lost one of their last ten league matches.
Los Angeles FC will be hoping to do a bit better than their cross-city rivals. The brand new club are already outperforming the most successful side in MLS history, although a lot of that is down to LA Galaxy’s shocking run of form over the last year or so.
Even so, LAFC have been very impressive since their debut season began. They find themselves up in 3rd position in the Western Conference and are only four points off the top of the table, although recently their form has started to slip somewhat. Last weekend they played out a 1-1 draw against DC United to make it four games without a win, although the fact that three of these have still yielded points is a positive note.
In fact, Los Angeles FC have only lost three of their opening 12 MLS matches, and even away from home they have won four of their seven games. Considering FC Dallas have only actually won three of their seven home league games this season we think a Los Angeles FC Win or Draw Double Chance is a great value bet, along with a 2-2 correct score predictions.
