• Stuttgart have won their last six matches against Karlsruher.
  • Stuttgart have won 15 of their 30 league games this season.
  • Karlsruher have lost 12 of their 30 league games this season.
  • Both teams have scored in 60% of Karlsruher’s away games and Stuttgart’s away games this season.

Karlsruher are battling relegation from the 2. Bundesliga

Karlsruher went down 1-0 away at Aue last weekend and have now failed to win any of their last four league games. The hosts sit third from bottom in the relegation playoff place but could slip into the automatic relegation places with a defeat on Sunday. Stuttgart made it three games unbeaten as they drew 0-0 at home with Osnabruck and remain second in the table, 5pts behind the league leaders Bochum.

Stuttgart will be confident of securing all 3pts this weekend as they have beaten Karlsruker in all of their last six meetings, most recently in November 3-0 in the duos’ reverse league fixture. The visitors head into this game as the form favourites with two wins, two draws and two defeats from their last six outings and will be looking to increase the gap between the two clubs to 25pts.

Stuttgart are hoping to return to the Bundesliga this season

We’ve predicted a win for Stuttgart this weekend as the visitors have outplayed their hosts in all departments so far this season. Over 2.5 goals have been scored in 57% of Stuttgart’s league games this season and both teams have scored in 57% as well, while Karlsruher’s games produce an average of 2.87 goals and 60% have produced goals at both ends of the pitch.

The visitors have won half of their 30 league games this season while Kalrsruher have dropped points in ten of their 15 home matches. Stuttgart have only kept clean sheets in 27% of their away games so far this season and we don’t envisage the visitors improving that percentage on Sunday as the hosts have only failed to score in 27% of their home games.

The visitors are the form favourites

As for a final scoreline, we’re predicting a 3-1 win for Stuttgart on Sunday as they have scored three goals in four of their last six matches against Karlsruher, including the pairs’ last encounter in November. The visitors boast a stronger attack and a stronger defence that the home side and we believe this will show when the pair lock horns this weekend.
