As we head into week 14 of the Swedish Superettan season, things are starting to take shape with just one more round of fixtures after this one until the halfway mark. Norrby and Landskrona appear to be in very much the same boat. The pair are both currently in positions of safety but only just with the four sides below them all in either automatic relegation or play-off places.
Therefore this is a significant game and the winners will have the chance to build up a bit of a cushion on the bottom four. Norrby were 2-0 victors in their last home match against Brage and enjoyed their best result of the season so far last time out by winning 2-1 at high-flying Orgryte. That should give them some confidence heading into this match but they could really do with a more consistent run of results.
The same could be said of Landskrona who picked up a thumping 5-1 away win last month but have failed to really build on that. They’ve lost their last two matches including a 2-1 home defeat against Brage last weekend. They were only promoted last term so to some extent they can be happy with their current position but they do have work to do in order to avoid slipping into the bottom four.
Overall, this is a pretty tough one to call. Norrby have lost 67% of their home games this term, winning the remainder while Landskrona have an identical record away, winning twice and losing four. The bookies see it as a pretty even contest but given Norrby are yet to draw at home while Landskrona are yet to draw away, there is a strong chance we will get a result one way or the other.
The hosts look marginally the more likely victors. They must take confidence from having won 2 of their last 3 matches. Meanwhile it feels a bit like Landskrona’s bubble might have burst now after they carried some momentum over following their promotion last season.
They’ve lost four of their last five away games with the only exception being that victory away to 15th placed Gefle. Norrby should provide a greater test of their metal and backing a Home Win could well be the best move here with reasonably good odds available.
