• Shakhtyor have kept clean sheets in each of their last six league games.
  • Shakhtyor have won five of their last seven matches against Energetyk.
  • Under 2.5 goals have been scored in 50% of Shakhtyor’s home games and Energetyk’s away games.

Shakhtyor secured a 1-0 win away at Dinamo Minsk thanks to an early second-half effort from Lisakovich but still remain 4th in the table, while Energetyk surprisingly dropped points at home to mid-table Vitebsk as the visitors scored a stoppage-time equaliser to pinch a 3-3 draw.

Despite that result, Energetyk remain two places above Shakhtyor in the title race but there is just one point separating the pair heading into Sunday’s clash. Shakhtyor score an average of 1.45 goals per home game and only concede an average of 0.27 goals, so you can see why we have predicted a win-to-nil for the hosts this weekend.

However, Energetyk are a top side and won’t prove easy to beat on Sunday as they average 2.00 points per away game and only concede an average of 1.18 goals on the road. Shakhtyor head into Sunday’s match as the form favourites have won five of their last six matches but the most impressive aspect of that unbeaten run is the fact that the hosts have kept clean sheets in all of those league games.

We’re certainly expecting a close and competitive 90-minutes between these two top sides but Shakhtyor have had the edge over Energetyk in their most recent encounters, winning five of the duos’ last seven head to heads. That fantastic defence record of Shakhtyor’s is the main reason we have predicted a 1-0 win for the hosts who boast the joint-best goal difference (+13) in the league alongside BATE.
